"Down the Highway " is the debut CD for Sour Mash String Band , a unique blend of talented musicians with a fresh outtake on the Bluegrass, Americana , Blues and Country Rockabilly sound. They are energetic on stage and a have a sound that is as addictive as it is original .
The bluesy vocals of Mariane Barnett lend a extraordinary intoxication to the acoustic sounds of Josh Moody's unbelievable guitar licks . Cody Nutter's melodious baritone voice and woody mandolin percussion can create a frenzy of emotion and allow you experience the intense feelings of the lyrics to the songs . Greg Settle lends his dulcet vocal harmonies,wisdom and expertise on the banjo to the verses. The combination of all of these artists along with Patsy Brookover's ability to absolutely rock the Upright Bass and lend choral expression with her vocals make for a sound that can't be replicated . The original tunes by Josh Moody and his distinctive bluegrass vocals make this album a treasure that needs to be experienced to be understood. This is a band that is evolving and changing the face of musical expression by bringing a taste of the traditional and mixing it with the modern, giving your palate a taste of a brew of music that you will want to continue to enjoy.
